How to Check the Status of a License Renewal
Step 1: Log into your SureLC profile.
Step 2: Go to the Licenses Page and select the "Application Status" button on the top right.
Step 3: In the following example, a license renewal was processed for Iowa and New Mexico through SureLC. When a license is successfully renewed, a green message will be shown.
License information can also be checked on the Licenses page to ensure the license information has been updated (and reflects the updated expiration date or additional lines of authority).
Please Note: If there were a license renewal problem, you'd see a red status message stating, "Declined by the state DOI (or NIPR)." If you see this message, please get in touch with the appropriate state department of insurance to determine the reason for the decline so that corrective action can be taken. The reason may be that state continuing education requirement still need to be met. You can use the NIPR transaction # as a reference. Additional information may be shown under the status message when provided by NIPR.
If you see a yellow status message such as "Under State Review," this means that the renewal is still under state review and has not been completed. If more than one week has passed since the renewal was submitted, please get in touch with the state Department of Insurance for more information and to find out if any further action will need to be taken to complete the license renewal. You can use the NIPR transaction number as a reference. Additional information may be shown under the status message when provided by NIPR.
