Aetna Senior Supplemental Insurance (Aetna SSI) and SuranceBay worked together to make submitting contracting paperwork even easier. Effective November 2, 2018, all Contract & Transfer request types will be submitted directly to Aetna SSI after processing the request in SureLC™.
Contract and Transfer Requests Uploaded Electronically
Now, when you process either Contract or Transfer requests through SureLC, you'll receive the merged.pdf form in your inbox as you normally do. However, there will now be a watermark on the PDF forms that indicate the forms have been electronically submitted to the carrier.
Contracting paperwork is submitted electronically every 5-10 minutes directly to Aetna SSI. So, upon follow-up with the carrier they should have everything to process the request shortly after you've submitted it.
This means that you should NOT forward the paperwork (email, fax, snail mail, etc.) to the carrier - they'll receive it directly from SureLC™ and they will process the request accordingly. This is designed to streamline the process for both your agency, your producers, and Aetna SSI to provide a quicker turn-around and more secure process for everyone involved.
Carriers Included in the Integration
The following carriers are included in the electronic integration:
- Aetna Health Ins Co (AHIC)
- Aetna Health And Life Insurance Co (AHLIC)
- American Continental Ins Co (ACI)
- Continental Life Ins Co Of Brentwood Tennessee (CLI)
Request Types NOT Uploaded Electronically
Please note that the following request types are NOT electronically submitted to the carrier:
- Hierarchy (commission level) changes
- EFT Payment account changes
- Additional State Appointment requests
For these 3 request types processed through SureLC, you'll still receive an email, and you should submit them to the appropriate carrier as you normally would (email, fax, snail mail, etc.).
