Athene has worked with SuranceBay to enable bi-directional integration between SureLC and their home office system(s). As of May 12th, 2025, submitting requests is easier and the turnaround time is drastically reduced for you and your producers through this automated workflow. You'll see Carrier Receipt responses and more, right in SureLC!

Supported Request Types:
- Contracts
- Transfers
For Commission & Hierarchy Changes, Additional States, or Payment (EFT account change requests) you should continue submitting these request types as you normally would, they will be sent by email, and not through the direct integration.
How It Works:
On the last step in SureLC, you will see this message:
"WILL BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY".
After you "Process" the request, you will receive an email with a PDF copy of the paperwork for your records. Please note, the PDF file that you receive will be watermarked with "Electronically sent to carrier, do not submit."
Athene will receive the contract data and forms direct through the integration ..... There is nothing further that you need to do in order for Athene to receive the request.
Please do NOT forward the paperwork (email, fax, snail mail, etc.) to the carrier - they'll receive it directly from SureLC™ and will process the request accordingly. This is designed to streamline the process for both your agency, your producers, and the carrier, to provide a quicker turn-around and more secure process for everyone involved.
⚠️ALERT: ALL requests for a producer will be submitted electronically, including the initial and any subsequent requests.
Submission Frequency:
Contracting paperwork is sent to Athene electronically every 15 minutes everyday, seven days a week between the hours of 7am-8pm ET. Once you select Process, please allow at least 15 minutes before making any changes to the request. Changes made prior to that 15 minute window will cause the submission request to be cancelled.
Status Updates:
SuranceBay is very pleased to have worked with Athene to make status updates available directly within SureLC for your review. You will be able to confirm the carrier's receipt of the request and will be assigned a writing number pending final approval.
Here's a short list of status updates to expect:
- Carrier Confirmed Receipt
- Appointment Completed (Writing Code XXXXX)
- Application Under Review
- Request Is Not In Good Order (Details included)
Electronic Submissions are REQUIRED:
Athene does not accept requests submitted via email. Therefore, in order to process requests in SureLC, agencies are required to submit via the integration. If your agency wishes to disable the integration for any reason, please contact:
