Firms

Jim Friend -

The Firms page allows agencies to manage firm/business entity information on business entities and institutions with which your agency works.

To access the firm's page, log in as an agency admin and select Firms in the navigation menu.  This article describes:

ADDING BUSINESS ENTITIES (FIRMS) AND INSTITUTIONS

There are 3 different ways you can add a new business entity to SureLC:

1. Within a Producer's Profile WITH Pulling from NIPR:

Most agencies prefer to pull the Business Entity's PDB Report from NIPR when adding the producer's business entity to SureLC. Pulling information from NIPR eliminates manual data entry, and SureLC will also automatically pull license details and synchronize the business entity's license details on a weekly basis, as provided by NIPR. To pull the information from NIPR, enter the business's EIN and then click Retrieve from NIPR

2. Within a Producer's Profile WITHOUT Pulling from NIPR:

On a producer's profile inside of SureLC, click DBA and select Business Entity from the options menu. Next, enter the EIN and select Create without NIPR. Please note that this option is ONLY available if the EIN is not found in the NIPR database. Adding a business entity without pulling from NIPR does not charge your SureLC account the NIPR Recovery Fee, and state license details for the Business Entity are not pulled from NIPR.

3. Adding an Entity Without Associating the Entity with a Principal

Editing Information

The firm profile is made up of 4 tabs. Click the respective tab, review the information, and modify as needed.

PROFILE TAB

This tab shows all of the information that is auto-imported from NIPR when using the "Retrieve with NIPR" option when registering the firm.

LICENSES TAB

The licenses tab will show ALL of the firm's active licenses imported from NIPR. Please note that if the firm was registered without NIPR and added manually to SureLC,  licenses will have to be added manually.   Firm_Profile_-_Licenses_Tab.png

EFT TAB

The EFT tab will show the firm's current bank routing number and account number where the producer's business would like to be paid commissions from the carrier. This only applies when the producer linked to the firm account is set up as a business entity on their DBA tab.

CONTRACTS
 TAB

After initial registration, this tab will have limited information imported from NIPR. As new carrier appointment requests are completed for the business entity these contracts will be shown here. Carrier contracts that were already in place prior to SureLC registration can be manually added here as well by selecting the Record Existing Contract button.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1. I'm in a producer's profile and I see the producer's Business Voided Check.  However, I'm not able to modify the producer's Business Account Voided Check.  How do I do this?

A1. It's best to go directly to the Business Entity's profile to make the change.  See the steps above, go to the Entity's EFT Tab and make the necessary adjustments.
