Why is the "Send To: Carrier" option unavailable when processing contracts for certain carriers?

Jim Friend -

WHY CAN'T I EMAIL CONTRACTING REQUESTS DIRECTLY TO THE CARRIER FROM SURELC?

I am trying to process contracting paperwork for a producer, and I am not able to select the "Send to: Carrier" option. This option is disabled and can't be selected?

REASONS WHY THE CARRIER EMAIL OPTION IS UNAVAILABLE:

  1. The carrier may not accept email submissions for contracting paperwork.
  2. The carrier may have several divisions or processing centers assigned to different email addresses.
  3. SuranceBay does not yet have the email address for the contracting department for the desired insurance company. You may submit the carrier's contracting department email address to support@surancebay.com for us to update the carrier the carrier email for you.

WHAT IS THE RESOLUTION

There are two solutions on how to handle carriers that do not have a supported email in SureLC:

  1. Designate a Carrier Licensing Email
  2. Process the Contract to Yourself

Click on the the preferred option to read further details or scroll down the page.

DESIGNATE A CARRIER LICENSING EMAIL

Assign a specific email your agency uses to submit contract requests.

  • Go to your Carriers page in the navigatin menu.
  • Select the carrier from the Selected Carriers list.
  • Enter your agency's designated carrier email address in the "Carrier Contracting Email" field on the General Info tab. Please note you can enter one or multiple email addresses here. If you are working with an upline, you can  add your upline email here (when you want to send processed contracts to your upline instead of the carrier directly).

This setting will ensure the designated email(s) are used to send contract requests. Here is an example of what would be shown on the final step of the appointment request process when a custom carrier contracting email was specified in the above screen:

⚠️ ALERT EMAIL OVERRIDE:

If SureLC already supports a carrier email, any Licensing Email designations in your carrier settings will override the master email setting allowing you to control where you want your contracts to be sent.

⚠️ ALERT UNMONITORED EMAIL BOX:

Contracts that are sent to the carrier directly out of SureLC are sent from an unmonitored email address.  If the carrier fails to read the email where responses should be sent, and hits the REPLY button, you may not get the correspondence the carrier intended to send you.

**PLEASE NOTE:  Integrated carriers are EXCLUDED from this feature.  To see a full list of integrated carriers CLICK HERE.

PROCESS THE CONTRACT YOURSELF

Processing contracting paperwork to yourself allows you to:

  • Designate the recipient
  • Add any details to the email prior to sending the request.
  • Ensures you'll get responses back if the carrier hits the REPLY button in their response.

Click on either the Administrator (this is your email) or BGA checkbox (this is your agency's contact email) prior to processing the request.   Once the email is received forward it on to the insurance company.

If you have an email address for a carrier that we're missing, please send an email to support@surancebay.com along with the carrier name, and we'll update it accordingly.
